Is the BIL-INFO card withdrawal a card fraud scam?
If you notice a debit from BIL-INFO, it means that your bank card has been entered on a website.
Here are some examples: a trial offer on a clairvoyance site (for example '30 minutes for 1 euro '), a small subscription for a dating site or even an adult content site that required proof of majority by entering their bank card numbers… All these examples have the same consequence: that of automatically subscribing to an online service billed every month.
Unless your bank card has disappeared and someone else has used it to register on a website, there is a good chance that you are at the origin of this subscription to BIL-INFO. Perhaps you did not understand that entering your bank details could lead to a subscription? (this is quite possible and unfortunately very common.)
In summary, we cannot consider it a scam in the sense that it is not a credit card hack.
What is the origin of the BIL-INFO direct debit?
As explained above, this flow follows a registration on a website that operates on the subscription model.
Our diagnosis: It seems that the CB BIL-INFO withdrawal is the result of a subscription taken on an adult content site (meetings or photos / videos for adults for example) or a medium clairvoyance site. You don't remember having taken out a subscription? Maybe you thought you were just entering your bank details for a little trial offer (or to prove your majority or your identity). Many sites use this type of commercial mechanic in order to sell subscriptions.
Please note: this debit card is recurring. You must complete cancellation procedures to no longer be charged for the next few months.
How to stop BIL-INFO card withdrawals?
There are two solutions to stop withdrawals from BIL-INFO and terminate any subscription taken out against your will:
- 'I want to manage on my own': the solution (free)
- Identify the site at the origin of these withdrawals: on which site did you enter your bank card details?
- Once you have found the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, you have created an account in the past)
- Once logged in, you will usually find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings
- 'I prefer to let a pro handle the problem': go through a service provider such as Sos Internet to help you stop direct debits BIL-INFO:
- They take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
- They carry out the termination procedures
- They send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
Can I block my card with my bank to stop the BIL-INFO bank charges?
If it is a card fraud, that is to say, if the card has been lost and used by a third party, you can declare it lost with your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try to obtain a refund (this point is to be discussed directly with your bank advisor).
If you are still in possession of your card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) which informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card. The legal point : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.
