Where do ROVUPAY card debits come from and how to stop them in 4 key steps

4 questions / answers to understand
this bank charge

1/4 - Is the ROVUPAY debit a card scam / fraud?

Have you noticed a bank direct debit from ROVUPAY? First point, this means that your credit card details have been registered on an online site.

Unless your bank card has disappeared and a stranger has used it to register on a website, there is a good chance that you are at the origin of this purchase linked to ROVUPAY and therefore to the resulting subscription (Yes because an important information: ROVUPAY debits are linked to subscriptions. They are therefore recurring withdrawals that will continue as long as you do not stop them. But on which site would you have been able to enter your card? perhaps any site that offers subscription offers: dating sites, clairvoyance sites, adult content sites or sports coaching, cooking recipes, subscriptions to boxes of all kinds (coffee, recipes, socks … We really see everything!).

2/4 - Where does the ROVUPAY direct debit come from?

As detailed above, this card debit follows an internet subscription.

Our diagnosis: It seems that the CB ROVUPAY withdrawal is the consequence of a recurring subscription. You don't remember having taken out a subscription for an online service? Perhaps you did not directly enter your bank details for a subscription but rather as part of a trial offer like '3 days trial for a few euros'. This kind of commercial mechanic is very common and aims to collect your banking information to subscribe to the service and withdraw money from you each month.

Namely: this direct debit is recurring. You must complete cancellation procedures to no longer be charged for the next few months.

3/4 - How to stop ROVUPAY bank direct debits?

There are two ways to stop money withdrawals from ROVUPAY and to terminate any current subscription taken out against your will:

- 'I want to do all these steps myself': the solution (free)

  1. Find the site linked to these direct debits (= the site on which you took a trial offer): on which site did you enter your credit card details?
  2. Once you have identified the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, you have created an account there in the past)
  3. Once logged in, you will generally find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings (which can be found in the 'my account' or 'membership' areas depending on the site)

- 'I do not wish to carry out the procedures alone and I prefer to let a professional handle the problem': you can go through a service provider such as "I stop the charges" to help you stop the withdrawals ROVUPAY:

    1. They take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
    2. They carry out the termination procedures
    3. They send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
    4. Their services are chargeable (and 'effective or reimbursed' guarantees).

4/4 - Can I block my card with my bank to stop the ROVUPAY charges?

If you are still in possession of your bank card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) that informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card.

If it is a card fraud, that is, if the card has been physically lost and used by a third party, you can report it lost to your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try toget a refund (this point is to be seen directly with your bank adviser).

What the law says ? : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.

Pssst!

And here is another rovupay scam, I forgot to cancel my subscription which I had not taken out, but which rovupay charged me, 47 € 50. I am unemployed
It is a large sum. But not for you. ROVUPAY = THIEF

      Response,
  5. Adam

I canceled within 10 minutes, but the debit was taken. As it is, their way of acting is fraudulent. For me, they are thieves that you shouldn't hesitate to mention in social networks.

Rovupay is a company of thugs who spend their time on a subterfuge that nobody notices to take money from you (generally 47.50 euros). Personally, I file a complaint against them and I block the withdrawals.
Because of thugs like this site, we no longer even dare to order online.

They are all thieves !!!! It's decided, I will never order or buy anything via the web again !!! One way or another we all get screwed !!! Me too I was STOLEN by Rovupay !!! I'm currently trying to get a refund ?! I order items on Amazon or CDiscount and each time (without knowing it) they are items produced and shipped by China that we wait for weeks when not months !!! So it's over and neither and nor will I ever come back bought on the web! In the end, it is all the companies that go through this means that will pay the costs !!! When a maximum of people will be ripped off like that they will end up cleaning up !!! All these "free" trial sites where you are asked for the details of your credit card which, supposedly, will not be taken and which in reality in fact is taken all the same are all thieves who take advantage of the naivety of the elderly ! While waiting for the good morning to all !!!

Hello, it seems to me the best in front of these rogue methods would be to regroup to bring a class action. It would be nice if the police specializing in online scams were concerned about these scammers.

not much to add to the comments. I went to make a test on a video site which took 9 euros from me, and now every two weeks rovupay punctures me 15 euros without me knowing why. I went to their site, I canceled the site of video on demand, but streams continue, and unable to reach and remove this site; I plan to warn consumer organizations.
