1/4 - Is the GEEKITZ debit a credit card fraud / scam?

You notice a debit that responds to the name of GEEKITZ: this means that your bank card has been entered on a website and that you are (perhaps, without knowing it) subscribed to a service offered by the site. Who used your card? On which site ? This is what we will try to find out:

What site could this be? Here are some examples: a trial offer on a site (clairvoyance, meetings, or other…), a competition game to win a gift or a super reduction…

Unless your bank card has disappeared (lost or stolen) and an evil person has used it to register on a website of this type, there is a good chance that YOU are at the origin of this subscription to GEEKITZ. Very often, Internet users enter their card without realizing that behind the trial offer, there is a subscription (don't panic, you can cancel these withdrawals, that's what we'll see right away!)

In this sense, we cannot consider it to be card fraud in the sense that it is not bank card hacking.

2/4 - What is the origin of the GEEKITZ card debit?

As explained above, this speed follows an internet subscription.

Our diagnosis: It seems that the CB GEEKITZ withdrawal is linked to a subscription from a website (sites that offer subscriptions: meetings, clairvoyance, video content, streaming or others…). How they work? You enter your bank details as part of a very inexpensive trial offer and you end up subscribed to the service. The company that manages GEEKITZ can thus deduct one or more sums from you each month under the pretext of a subscription.

Please note: this debit is recurring and will continue as long as you have not completed the termination procedures so as not to be withdrawn in the coming months.

3/4 - How to stop GEEKITZ card withdrawals?

There are two ways to stop cash withdrawals from GEEKITZ and to terminate any current subscription taken out against your will:

- 'I want to do all these steps myself': the solution (free)

1. Find the site linked to these direct debits (= the site on which you took a trial offer): on which site did you enter your credit card details?
2. Once you have identified the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, you have created an account there in the past)
3. Once logged in, you will generally find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings (which can be found in the 'my account' or 'membership' areas depending on the site)

- 'I do not wish to carry out the procedures alone and I prefer to let a professional handle the problem': you can go through a service provider such as Sos Internet to help you stop direct debits GEEKITZ:

1. They take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
2. They carry out the termination procedures
3. They send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
4. Their services are chargeable (and 'effective or reimbursed' guarantees).

4/4 - Can I cancel my card with my bank to stop GEEKITZ direct debits?

If you are still in possession of your bank card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) that informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card.

If it is a card fraud, that is, if the card has been physically lost and used by a third party, you can report it lost to your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try toget a refund (this point is to be seen directly with your bank adviser).

What the law says ? : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.
