MEDIAMINCE appears on my bank statement: how do I cancel it?

this bank charge

Is the MEDIAMINCE direct debit a bank card scam fraud?

Have you noticed a bank direct debit from MEDIAMINCE? First point, this means that your bank card has been registered on an online site.

Unless your bank card has disappeared and a stranger has used it to register on a website, there is a good chance that you are at the origin of this subscription to MEDIAMINCE. Quite often, people who enter their bank details in sweepstakes or attractive offers are unaware that they are in fact signing up for a monthly or bi-monthly subscription.

In this sense, we cannot consider the direct debit as a scam in the sense that it is not a bank card hacking.

Here are some examples that can lead to surprising and unexpected speeds: a trial offer on a site (clairvoyance, meetings, streaming videos ...), a contest to win an iPhone at 1 euro (or any other expensive object: a tablet, cinema tickets ...), a newsletter telling you that you have won a trip ...

Where does the MEDIAMINCE levy come from?

As explained above, this speed follows an internet subscription.

The expert opinion: It seems that the CB MEDIAMINCE withdrawal is linked to contests such as "Win a smartphone for 1 euro", "You won a trip", "You won cinema tickets" ... How do they work? You enter your bank details as part of one of these contests (to pay shipping costs, prove your identity or other reason ...) and you end up subscribed to any service. The company which manages MEDIAMINCE can thus withdraw one or more sums from you each month under the pretext of a subscription.

Please note: this direct debit is recurring. You must complete cancellation procedures to no longer be charged for the next few months.

How to stop MEDIAMINCE withdrawals?

There are two solutions to stop withdrawals from MEDIAMINCE and terminate any subscription taken out against your will:

- 'I want to manage on my own': the solution (free)

  1. Identify the site at the origin of these withdrawals: on which site did you enter your bank card details?
  2. Once you have found the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, you have created an account in the past)
  3. Once logged in, you will usually find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings

- 'I prefer to be accompanied and let a professional manage the termination problem': go through a service provider such as Sos Internet to help you stop direct debits MEDIA:

  1. They take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
  2. They carry out the termination procedures
  3. They send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
  4. Can I block my card with my bank to stop the MEDIAMINCE charges?

If it is a credit card fraud, that is to say, if the card has been lost and used by a third party, you can declare it lost with your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try to obtain a refund (this point is to be discussed directly with your bank advisor).

If you are still in possession of your card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) which informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card. The legal point : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.

    Bonjour,
The last time I told you that I was stopping the subscription so I see that you did not do it and that you took another 69,95 euros from me so I ask you to reimburse me as soon as possible.
I must tell you that today I would go to my bank to block these "LOCKBILLING" withdrawals, for me it is a scam no more and no further.
I expect a response from you as soon as possible.
    Best regards.

I contacted the company and requested the cancellation because I did not ask for anything and I do not know the site.
    € 3.95 were charged.
I was told that a registration had been made and an automatic renewal. During a promotion.
I don't know this site and don't watch movies.
    Lost some money ...
we must therefore be careful and not be tempted by games and easy wins….

Hello, I just received my bank statement and there I discovered that Mediamince took three from my account for amounts of 39,90 when I did not subscribe to any site. I'm sick of it . And CMT MO 14 also took 27,90 from me. I don't even know what it is. Thank you for your answers

block your bank card in your bank, because it is a big scam with the bank card of the part of mediamince.com
this is the only solution given that the site does not respond to termination requests from "customers".
