Understand where the DEBITGO card debits come from and stop them

Is DEBITGO Debit a Card Fraud Scam?

You notice a debit that responds to the name DEBITGO: this means that your bank card has been entered on a website and that you are (perhaps, without knowing it) subscribed to a service offered by the site.

What kind of offers could this be? Here are some examples: a trial offer on a clairvoyance site (for example '30 minutes for 1 euro '), a small subscription for a dating site or even an adult content site that requires proof of majority by entering its bank card numbers… All these pretexts to make you enter your card have the same consequence: that of automatically subscribing to an online service billed every month.

Unless your bank card has disappeared (loss or theft) and a malicious person has used it to register on a website of this type, you are undoubtedly at the origin of this subscription to DEBITGO. It is very likely that you did not understand at the time that you agreed to subscribe to a service (unfortunately this happens to many Internet users).

With all this information, we cannot consider that it is a card fraud in the sense that it is not a bank card hacking.

Where does the DEBITGO card withdrawal come from?

As explained above, this speed follows an internet subscription.

Our diagnosis: It seems that the CB DEBITGO withdrawal is the consequence of a subscription to an adult content site (adult dating or videos for example) or a clairvoyance site. You don't remember having taken out a subscription? Maybe it's because you thought you were just entering your bank details for a little trial offer (or even to prove your majority or your identity). Many sites offer attractive offers in order to sell subscriptions.

Please note: this debit is recurring and will continue as long as you have not completed the termination procedures so as not to be withdrawn in the coming months.

How to stop DEBITGO bank debits?

There are two solutions to stop withdrawals from DEBITGO and terminate any subscription taken out against your will:

- 'I want to manage on my own': the solution (free)

  1. Identify the site at the origin of these withdrawals: on which site did you enter your bank card details?
  2. Once you have found the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, you have created an account in the past)
  3. Once logged in, you will usually find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings

- 'I prefer to let a pro handle the problem': go through a service provider such as Sos Internet to help you stop direct debits DEBITGO:

  1. They take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
  2. They carry out the termination procedures
  3. They send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
  4. Can I block my card with my bank to stop DEBITGO direct debits?

If it is a card fraud, that is to say, if the card has been lost and used by a third party, you can declare it lost with your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try to obtain a refund (this point is to be discussed directly with your bank advisor).

If you are still in possession of your card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) which informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card.

The legal point : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.
