Why did PLANETPLAYGAMES charge me? How to stop everything?

4 questions / answers to understand
this bank charge

1/4 – Is PLANETPLAYGAMES debit a card fraud type scam?

'I see this levy on my account and it comes back every month. I have no idea where it came from so I don't know how to stop it.' : if you note a debit from PLANETPLAYGAMES, this means that your credit card has been entered on a website as part of a purchase or a contest for example (some sites ask for bank details under the pretext to send you your 'gift.' Gift that you will never receive since it was in fact a pretext to subscribe to some online service and you take money each month).

Unless your means of payment has disappeared (lost or stolen card) and a malicious person used it to register on a website of this type, there is a good chance that you are origin of this operation and therefore of this subscription to PLANETPLAYGAMES.

In this sense, we cannot consider it a scam in the sense that it is not a bank card hack.

2/4 – Where does the PLANETPLAYGAMES card withdrawal come from?

As explained above, this speed follows an internet subscription.

Our diagnosis: It would seem that the CB PLANETPLAYGAMES withdrawal is linked to raffle games such as "Win an iPhone for 1 euro", "You have won a weekend at the hotel", "You have won cinema ticket books" … How they work? You enter your credit card numbers in the context of one of these contests (to pay shipping costs, prove your identity or for another reason, etc.) and you find yourself subscribed to some service. The company that manages PLANETPLAYGAMES can thus charge you one or more sums each month under the pretext of a subscription.

Please note: this direct debit is recurring. You must complete cancellation procedures to no longer be charged for the next few months.

3/4 – How to end PLANETPLAYGAMES bank debits?

There are two types of procedures for stopping debits from PLANETPLAYGAMES and canceling/terminating a subscription taken out in error:

- 'I would like to take the necessary steps myself': the solution (free)

  1. Find the website at the origin of these cash withdrawals (= the site on which you entered your credit card details)
  2. Once you have identified the site, connect to it (if you have a current subscription with them, the site knows you and you probably even have an account with them)
  3. Once logged in, you will generally find the unsubscribe procedure in the site settings: all you have to do is follow the steps indicated by the site

- 'I prefer to let a professional manage my problem': you can go through a service provider such as Sos Internet to help you stop direct debits PLANETPLAYGAMES:

  1. Investigation: they take care of the identification searches of the company that takes your money
  2. Administrative: they carry out the termination procedures
  3. Peace of mind: they send you a confirmation email once everything is stopped
  4. 4/4 – Can I cancel my card with my bank to stop PLANETPLAYGAMES direct debits?

If it is a card fraud, that is to say, if the card has been lost and used by a third party, you can declare it lost with your banker. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try to obtain a refund (this point is to be discussed directly with your bank advisor).

If you are still in possession of your card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack: in this case, you have entered your bank details and have validated the GTC (General Conditions of Sale) which informed you about a possible subscription: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring a contract for which you have signed up. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card.

The legal point : in March 2018, the court of cassation accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This is the reason why a banker may refuse to block your card if you are the originator of the subscription.

Yes, unfortunately €2 for so-called shipping costs for a gift, I requested the termination of the subscription not requested on the site valid until 6/09 and not renewable, I received a confirmation by email. I also asked my bank to reimburse me. So let's wait

I am in the same situation. I played with my smartphone on planetplaygames but I did not give my credit card number.
I went to the site and messaged them for cancellation. I wrote in English.
They answered me quickly, explaining to me that I had clicked on a 6-day trial. As I had not canceled the order, they charged me 9.95€/quinz.
They assured me that they would take my cancellation request into consideration.

I had through Facebook an offer for a pair of Nikon binoculars at 3,00 euros (FNAC destocking offer)
Debit of 3,00 by credit card, 3 days later a debit of 30,00 euros without my authorization.
