SFC-INVOICE: why are they taking money from you? How to stop the debits?

4 questions / answers to understand
this bank charge

1/4 What is SFC-INVOICE? Should I be afraid of a scam?

SFC-INVOICE card operations correspond to a subscription taken out online. SFC-FACTURE charges you because you have subscribed to a service on a website (contests? Redemption / reduction sites? Dating sites, movies / series, video games ... there are thousands of sites that offer offers based on the subscription model).

Did I get caught by an SFC-INVOICE scam? This is a scam IF your bank card has been stolen and purchases have been made with it. If you are still in possession of your card, there is a good chance that you are responsible for the subscription related to SFC-INVOICE.

But I never agreed to subscribe to anything and pay every month! We believe you. Here is what could have happened: you entered your card numbers to make a small online purchase (trial offer, shipping costs for a gift, etc.) and you have not read the Site Conditions (GTC ) which indicated that unless you decline it, you are subscribing to their service.

This happens very often, if we are to believe the comments we read on our site, but don't worry, we explain how to cancel the subscription !

2/4 Stopping SFC-INVOICE direct debits: the procedures to know

Stopping SFC-INVOICE direct debits is free. To do this, you must complete the termination procedures. You can do this directly online. The details of these steps are directly specified on their platform.

If you can't do it alone (because you are lost, because you do not remember the origin of the subscription, because you do not have the time or the inclination to cancel yourself or for any other reason), it is possible to get assistance from a termination assistance service provider. Our recommendation: I stop the costs!

This company helps you to identify the origin and the cause of the flows and to stop them definitively. Bonus: they can even help you get a refund WHEN possible (note: refunds are unfortunately not automatic, because they are really on a case-by-case basis. On the other hand, when it comes to stopping direct debits / cancel subscriptions, their services are guaranteed 100% effective or reimbursed.

3/4 What do I risk if I change my bank card? The banking / legal point

What the law says ? : in March 2018, the court of cassation refused an individual to blame his bank following an online scam. The CDC accepted the culpable negligence of a customer who had transmitted his data to a fraudulent site. This court decision explains why a banker could refuse to block your card and to consider a refund of the sums withdrawn if you are at the origin of the purchase.

If you are still in possession of your bank card, it is very unlikely that it is a card hack as explained above: blocking the card would therefore mean not honoring the contract that binds you to the company that charges you under the title; SFC-INVOICE. We therefore do not recommend blocking your credit card but carrying out the online procedures to cancel the current subscription..

4/4 Why we recommend I stop the costs!, the easy termination service!

As specified above, services exist to make your life easier 😉

Why we recommend you I stop the costs! ?

Because :

  1. It is a complete support: investigation to find the site at the origin of the debits, termination procedures ... and all this in all languages (practical when the termination must be done in English for example!)
  2. When possible, 'I stop the costs!' helps you get a refund of all or part of the sums withdrawn. This is on a case-by-case basis. When a refund is possible, your account manager will inform you.
  3. All termination services are guaranteed '100% effective or refunded'

To know however:

  1. These services have a cost (count between 24,90 and 49,90 euros for a termination service)

One last info: if it is a card fraud (= theft of your card or theft of your card details) you can declare it stolen / lost to your banker + file a complaint at a police station. You will also be able to open a fraud file to try toget a refund (this point is to be done directly with your bank).

Pssst!
